Asterion agrees €2.6bn deal for Germany's STEAG

Asterion Industrial Partners has agreed a €2.6bn deal to buy German renewables firm STEAG from the consortium Kommunale Beteiligungsgesellschaft (KSBG).

STEAG develops solar, wind, geothermal, power-to-X and storage projects. KSBG bought 51% of STEAG in 2011 and the remaining shares in 2014. Its sale of the company to Spanish infrastructure investor Asterion is due to conclude in December 2023.
