Carmaker Volvo joins Swedish offshore project

Car maker Volvo has agreed to collaborate with wind developer Eolus on the 1GW Västvind offshore wind project off the coast of Gothenburg, Sweden.

Volvo has committed to use power generated by the planned project for its operations in Hisingen in Gothenburg, including a battery factory it is building with Northvolt. Eolus and Volvo are looking to commission Västvind in 2029.
