Con Edison starts work on 1.5GW Brooklyn link

US utility Con Edison has started building the Brooklyn Clean Energy Hub to link 1.5GW of offshore wind projects to the onshore grid in New York.

The substation development is due to open in 2028. Tim Cawley, chairman and chief executive at Con Edison, said it was a "major milestone in the clean energy transition and will strengthen our grid's reliability".
