EDF and Maple win 1GW French tender

French utility EDF Renewables and its partner Maple Power have won a tender to develop 1GW of offshore wind capacity off the coast of Normandy in northern France.

The French Government announced plans for the tender for the Centre Manche 1 site in 2019; and the capacity is due to be commissioned in 2031. Maple Power is a joint venture between Enbridge and the Canada Pension Plan Investment Board.
