EDF lands China energy island deal

French utility EDF has signed an agreement with China Energy Investment to co-develop a 1.5GW energy island project off the coast of Dongtai, Jiangsu Province.

The development is part of a broader cooperation package agreed by the governments of the two countries on 6th April. The energy island is set to include offshore wind, solar and green hydrogen production capacity.
