ESB raises €1bn for renewables drive

Irish utility ESB has raised €1bn in a bond issue to invest in wind, solar, storage and smart meter projects in Ireland.

The raise is made up of two €500m bonds: a 12-year 4.25% fixed-rate green bond and a five-year 4% fixed-rate bond. The placement was managed by Danske Bank, JP Morgan, RBC Capital Markets and Société Générale.
