Greenvolt to acquire US solar-storage project from Solariant
Greenvolt Power has agreed a deal to acquire the 125MW Alamogordo solar and 50MW storage project - which will be constructed in Otero County, New Mexico - from California-headquartered renewable energy investor and developer Solariant Capital.
Solariant will remain involved in the project to see it through construction, which is scheduled to begin in 2024. The project is expected to begin commercial operation in 2025.
The project is expected to produce more than 300 GWh in the first year and power the equivalent of more than 20,000 New Mexico homes.
Weronika Nowak, deputy country manager for Greenvolt Power US, said: "Greenvolt is committed to partnering with communities and industry leaders to accelerate the energy transition, and our goal is to continue to expand into additional markets across the country."
Daniel Kim, managing director of Solariant Capital said: "We are thrilled to have the Greenvolt Power team's support as we finalize development and bring the project to commercial operation. This project will deliver clean, locally generated electricity and economic benefits to the state of New Mexico."
