Hydro seeks PPA compensation in Sweden
Norwegian utility Hydro Energi is seeking compensation over claims it has not received enough power from the 653MW Markbygden Ett wind farm in Sweden.
The company signed a power purchase agreement in 2017 to buy 1.65TWh annually from the Markbygden Ett wind farm in Pitea, northern Sweden. However, it is now seeking compensation of around €12m over production levels it said have been "significantly lower-than-expected".
Markbygden Ett is owned by China General Nuclear Power Group Europe Energy and BNR Infrastructure, which is owned by GE Capital and Silk Road Fund China.
