IberBlue unveils 2GW floating duo

IberBlue Wind has unveiled plans for two floating offshore wind projects totalling 2GW near the border between Spain and Portugal.

The projects are called Juan Sebastián Elcano and Creoula, and are set to be made up of 109 turbines off the Iberian peninsula's North Atlantic coast. The 1.4GW Creoula project is set to be comprised of 80 18MW turbines in Portuguese waters, while the 522MW Juan Sebastián Elcano project would be made up of 29 turbines in Spanish waters.

IberBlue Wind said this would be the first cross-border offshore wind complex.
