Naturgy to invest €117m in Spanish storage

Naturgy is to invest €117m in 145MW of energy storage in Spain.

The investment will include seven 20MW storage projects co-located with solar in the provinces of Toledo, Ciudad Real and Almeria, and one 5MW standalone storage project in Vigo in Pontevedra.

The total storage capacity of the eight projects will amount to 10.1GWh per year, equivalent to the consumption of more than 29,000 homes for two hours. 

Naturgy plans to start construction in 2024, with the projects set to be operational in 2025.
