Penso Power 100MW UK storage project approved

Penso Power has secured full planning approval for a 100MW connection capacity battery storage development at Bramley in Hampshire, 12 miles south of Reading in the UK.  

The project will connect to Scottish & Southern Energy Network’s (SSEN) distribution network and the approved design allows for deployment of more than 250MWh of battery storage. 

Bramley is part of a pipeline of large-scale battery storage projects in the UK that BW Energy Storage Systems (BW ESS) committed to fund under an agreement it announced with Penso Power in October 2021. Penso Power and BW ESS will become joint shareholders in the Bramley development, with Penso Power overseeing the project’s deployment and management once operational.
