PGE procures 75MW of storage in Oregon

Portland General Electric Company (PGE) has procured the Evergreen battery energy storage system, a 75MW facility to be located at a substation that will be constructed in Hillsboro, Oregon.

The battery project, which will be built by Mortenson, is expected to begin service in 2024.

The Evergreen facility represents the final procurement from PGE’s 2021 Request for Proposal (RFP), which resulted in a number of projects including the 311MW Clearwater Wind Farm, scheduled to begin operations by the end of 2023.
