RWE and Mitsui team up at Essex port Tilbury

German utility RWE has teamed up with Japanese firm Mitsui to develop green hydrogen production at the Port of Tilbury in Essex, UK.

The partners have signed a memorandum of understanding to work on two projects: a small 'proof of concept' demonstrator to produce green hydrogen to decarbonise port equipment; and an initial study into a 10MW green hydrogen production plant on Port of Tilbury land.
