Shell joins 10GW energy island project

Oil giant Shell has joined the VindØ consortium that is developing a 10GW artificial 'energy island' project in the Danish section of the North Sea.

The company has joined Andel, Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners, PensionDanmark and PFA in the group behind the project, which is set to pair offshore wind capacity with green hydrogen production. Boskalis, DEME and MT Højgaard are supporting on the development.
