Thor to use Siemens Gamesa green towers

German utility RWE is set to use Siemens Gamesa towers made of sustainable steel in half of the turbines at the 1GW Thor offshore wind project in Denmark.

Installation at the 72-turbine Thor project is due to begin in 2026. RWE named Siemens Gamesa as preferred turbine supplier at the project in January 2023.
