UK and Netherlands unveil LionLink plan

The UK and the Netherlands have unveiled plans for a transmission project called LionLink to link both countries to 2GW of offshore wind farms in the North Sea.

The countries announced the plan for the cross-border transmission link and interconnector project today at the North Sea Summit in Ostend, Belgium. The goal of the summit is for nine countries adjacent to the North Sea to agree long-term goals for offshore wind development.
