US backs 704MW Revolution Wind in Rhode Island

The US Department of the Interior has backed Ørsted and Eversource's 704MW Revolution offshore wind project off the coast of Rhode Island.

The government announced on Tuesday (22nd August) that it has approved the scheme, which it said would contribute to the Biden administration's goal of deploying 30GW offshore wind in US waters by 2030. The US Bureau of Ocean Energy Management must still approve the project's construction and operation plan, which is due later this year.
