Verizon issues $1bn green bond

US telecoms company Verizon has issued its fifth green bond, totalling $1bn, that is due to be allocated to renewable energy projects.

This issue follows the news in February that Verizon had issued all of the nearly-$1bn from its fourth green bond to renewables developments. The company is looking to source or generate renewable energy equivalent to 50% of its total annual electricity consumption by 2025, and 100% by 2030.
