Richard Nourse

Richard is managing partner of Greencoat Capital, the UK’s largest specialist renewable investor with approaching £5bn and around 1.5GW capacity under management. His thirty-year career has been at the top levels of European finance, with the vast majority spent in the power and utilities sectors. Before founding Greencoat Capital in 2009, Richard had a long career in the City, latterly at Merrill Lynch where he led the EMEA Energy and Power Team. He has also worked for HM Gov’s Shareholder Executive, and acted as commercial representative for the Government’s 2017’s Cost of Energy review. He describes himself as a recovering banker and keeps a herd of rare breed cattle at home.
