Biography
Tom Festle joined E.ON in August 2007 as its Chief Accounting Officer at the time of its acquisition of the Ireland-based Airtricity’s North American operations. In April 2010, he assumed the role of North America Chief Financial Officer and was promoted to the additional role of Director -- Investment & Risk Management in 2017.With the sale of E.ON Climate & Renewables to RWE in October 2019, Mr. Festle now holds the role of Country CFO, US for RWE Renewables, Americas.RWE Renewables, the newest subsidiary of the RWE Group, is one of the world's leading renewable energy companies. With around 3,500 employees, the company has onshore and offshore wind farms, photovoltaic plants and battery storage facilities with a combined capacity of more than 9 gigawatts. RWE Renewables is driving the expansion of renewable energy in more than 20 countries on four continents. For further growth an annual investment budget of €1.5 billion net is available. When adding in possible partnerships, the investment budget could reach up to €3 billion. The focus is on the Americas, the core markets in Europe and the Asia-Pacific region.Mr. Festle oversees the investment, financing, portfolio management and risk management activities of RWE in North America, targeting significant continued expansion in wind, solar and energy storage.Tom began his career at Ernst & Young, where he later served as a Partner in its M&A Transaction Advisory Services group. He also served as Director of Accounting & Finance in McDonald’s Corporation’s Asia-Pacific region; as Vice President of Finance–Audit for R.R. Donnelley & Sons; and CFO of Seaton Corp. a midsized, private equity-owned services firm.
